Painted canal ware

Traditional narrow boat decoration should have life, flair and confidence! The painters of the past did not have time for neat, painstaking work as they were under pressure to get all boats out of the dock looking amazing and back to work as soon as possible!

Meg aims to continue the tradition of ‘real’ boat decoration, as taught by her very lovely, but also very Yorkshire and straight talking old boss, Phil Speight, one of the leading boat painters in the country. He instilled a sense of boldness and attitude (“stop painting like a girl!”) and gave his apprentice the techniques and underpinning knowledge to carry on his distinctive dock style of decoration for hopefully many years to come.

Narrow Boat door panels, pigeon boxes, back cabins, deck boards and cratch covers can all be enhanced with a flash of colour and life - please contact us for a no-obligation quote to brighten up you boat!

Commissions for cabin stools are also happily undertaken, and can be personalised with names, dates or a particular scene to make a special gift or keepsake.
